Joins Long List of Pro-Family Organizations and Leaders Backing Conservative Candidate for Texas Attorney General
(McKinney, Texas) – Senator Ken Paxton, Republican candidate for Texas Attorney General, today earned the endorsement of the Family Research Council (FRC) Action PAC. FRC Action, the non-profit and tax-exempt legislative action arm of Family Research Council, was founded in 1992 to educate the general public and cultural leaders about traditional American values and to promote the philosophy of the Founding Fathers concerning the nature of ordered liberty.
In an endorsement letter, FRC Action PAC President Connie Mackey wrote to Paxton, “On behalf of Family Research Council President, Tony Perkins, and FRC Action PAC, the political action committee affiliated with Family Research Council Action, we are pleased to endorse you for Attorney General in Texas. Your consistent record while both in the Texas State House of Representatives and the Texas State Senate on the issues of the family is to be commended. The votes you have cast on the life issue reflect your concern for mother and child and your support for marriage as between one man and one woman is strongly supported by the majority of Americans. We are confident that you will continue to be a strong advocate for limited government, for individual liberties, and for traditional family values.”
The endorsement by Family Research Council Action PAC solidifies Paxton’s overwhelming support among Texas and national pro-family organizations and leaders. Senator Paxton has now been endorsed by Kelly Shackelford, President and CEO of Liberty Institute*; Statewide Leadership Team Chairman, Ted Cruz for Senate; Tim Lambert, President, Texas Home School Coalition*; Former Republican National Committeeman for Texas; Cathie Adams, President, Texas Eagle Forum*; Former Chairman, Republican Party of Texas; Ann Hettinger, Former State Director of Concerned Women for America of Texas*; Jonathan Saenz, President, Texas Values*; Rick Green, Former Texas State Representative and Host of WallBuilders* Live; Carol Everett, Texas Pro-Life Leader; Founder and CEO of The Heidi Group*; Michelle Smith, State Director of Concerned Women for America of Texas*, Dr. Steve Hotze, President of Conservative Republicans of Texas; David Barton, President of WallBuilders*; Texas Right to Life PAC; Texas Eagle Forum PAC; and the Texas Home School Coalition.
Nationally, Paxton has also earned the endorsement of Sen. Rick Santorum, Gov. Mike Huckabee, and Penny Nance, President of Concerned Women for America* (CWA).
On March 4th, Senator Paxton shocked political observers with his first-place showing. During early voting, the Dan Branch campaign released a poll showing Representative Branch with an almost 2-1 lead over Senator Paxton. Despite being outspent more than 2-1, Senator Paxton led the field with 44%, coming within just 6 points of winning outright. Additionally, Paxton won Dan Branch’s home county of Dallas and his other “home” county of Bexar, where Rep. Branch grew up and still has family. Senator Paxton won 19 of the top 20 counties in Texas, and won 51 of the top 75 counties representing approximately 85% of the GOP vote.
