It’s time to take action against the titans of Silicon Valley.

For years, tech giants have operated as if the rules didn’t apply to them. And chief among the offenders is Google.

That’s why my office is leading a multistate coalition of 50 attorneys general to investigate Google for anticompetitive practices that harm consumers and businesses. You can read more about it at CNBC.com.

The coalition includes AGs from both parties and 48 out of 50 states, along with the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico.

Both parties. States from all over the country.

The investigation by our offices is in addition, of course, to the probe launched by the Trump Administration into similar practices by Google.

When one company controls so much of the ad market, the use of consumer data, and the share of how people even find information, then the American people, including all of us in Texas, are put at risk.

Texans are put at risk by anti-competitive practices that prevent new companies from starting.

Texans are put at risk by the lack of oversight and control over large amounts of their private, personal information.

Texans are put at risk by one company, whose executives clearly display anti-conservative and anti-Republican bias, subtly controlling what Americans see when they search for information about national political issues.

That’s why I jumped in to ensure our state and our nation are protected. And 49 other attorneys general agreed.

We will continue to fight for your rights and to protect you from monopolistic practices by liberal elites in DC… or in Silicon Valley.
